BREAKING NEWS: Romney Believes He’s Out
By James PoulosA well-placed source has confirmed that Mitt Romney no longer understands himself to be in consideration for the Republican nomination for Vice President. When asked where he’ll be tomorrow, Romney revealed that he planned to be in Massachusetts. When pressed for a clarification — as to whether that remark constituted an artful prevarication — Romney declared that it did not. Further, one of Romney’s senior advisors has verified that if he put it thus, it’s true.

I just heard on TV that he will be in Dayton tomorrow and so will Huckabee, Pawlenty, Lieberman and who know who else.

Tis a shame if Romney will not be selected, but I have high hopes that he will stick around for the future. I met Mitt a number of times during the caucuses in Iowa earlier this year, and found him to be a very intelligent and genuine man. We need more politicians like him.
